I can't get into chat anymore

I don't know what I do wrong..but I can't get into chat anymore.
the chat window opens and everything seems normal...but the space where the messages are written is white and the space where normally the people who are in chat are listed is also white.
and I can't type anything. don't know what I do wrong.

In my case the chat has an agonizingly slow loud time after "submit"-click of the message.
