@my theme:
Yezrel wrote:Only the official criteria are correct, no own theories. Ask your doctor. It´s a medical diagnosis. If you have problems with your heart only the experts can give you the right diagnosis not loved ones. The same with OCPD. Ask the experts and don´t find own theories. You are not an expert. Look the official criteria which are saying what OCPD is.

You can ask psychologists too. They have the education for giving the right diagnosis with the correct criteria but not you. Loved ones cannot do therapy with their OCPDer. They are laypersons in clinical and psychological diagnostics.
Naturally I mean experts for personality disorders. I read articles of these experts and my therapist is a consultant with the special qualification for that. He often says that loved ones cannot do therapy with their family members with disorders. Therapists also couldn´t give therapy for the own family. That´s a massive assault to do that. There are some books about this theme (specialist literature).

@my OCPD situation in my family: I am counsel of my family because some of my family need my help existentially. Without my help they cannot manage their life. My sister was depressive for a long time. She was suicidal. I helped her and her little son. I must help her since my childhood. My brothers took drugs. My parents were absolutely overextended and needed my help too. I manage my whole family since my youth, paperwork and the children. I help all the time and they are happy about my rigid style to do that. Even my brother-in-law is happy about my OCPD style. The authority wanted to delete without replacement his invalidity pension but I could to eke out his right with my exact approach. They trust in my ability for these situations.

The problem is that I am wearied by this coming up to so many expectations of my family.

There are tables about the symptoms which come with an interruption of work. My fatigue could be a psychosomatic symptom of my internal protest.
I have read the pages 113-124 about the anankastic interruption of work. Good explanations about my problems. Anankastic behavior as a control method for coping with everyday life. Clear structures and focusing. Tunnel vision and rigidity as a method for finding clear structures and solutions and self-regulation. A case of a anankastic personality with somatoform symptoms and his key moment about the own pressure to perform and his false anankastic self-management with high energy overconsumption.

I had a discussion about the official definitions and it´s fact that narcissistic attributes are not part of the official OCPD. I have not my own definition of OCPD, I look what the official definition and the special literature say about OCPD. That was not my own definition. OCPD mean "it, it, it" and not "me, me, me". Read the special literature. I have many of them of German (translated) international experts but you find surely the same in English expert literature. Experts work internationally. My therapist works in USA too. They also have science publications in English, for example springerlink.com.

That´s what I mean we all here cannot make own definitions of OCPD, not me, not you, not other OCPDer and not loved ones. That´s an official diagnosis and there are experts for therapy. Naturally they need the right education and qualification for giving therapy with somebody with OCPD. I don´t go to the dental doctor if I have problems with the eyes. And my family cannot help me if I have eye problems. My soul and psyche is not less of value as my body. I have only trust for experts and not laypersons who give me the false inputs based on their subjective experiences.

Sentences with "OCPDer are so and so (put a negative list of the own OCPD/er", that´s clone-thinking for me. I pity these OCPDer with loved ones who have so extremely negative thoughts about them and OCPDer. I say what I think and probably the OCPDer of the loved ones also think so if they hear such feedback. Without love and understanding for the problems which OCPDer have.

Have more understanding and your relationship will be better! But an ex doesn´t want that. He wants only to delete the OCPDer, he hates the OCPD, he doesn´t see the own mistakes in the ex relationship, only the bad OCPD, the DISORDER and not the human with OCPD. OCPD is at fault. That´s poor and a so simple answer of a difficult situation. That´s black-white-thinking. Perhaps he has a disorder too. I say to him: Go to the therapist and let´s give your own diagnosis. There are other personality disorders with black-white-thinking. Perhaps this is your solution.

OCPD

I posted of the young girl with OCPD - she had written: OCPD is egodystonic, she means egosyntonic. And OCD is egodystonic. She confused these both terms. I´ve seen this mistake in the video but I like this video anyway.

I´ve read a lot of special literature about OCPD and the reasons in childhood. One reason is that parents are strict with the child. A woman with OCPD told about her mother who was strict with her because it was necessary. She believed that. This is her dogma. She wants to fill the rules of the mother. That´s the OCPD as result of the strictness of mother superego. I find that no child needs this strictness but love and understanding. I am foster mother, I know that. It´s absolutely possible. My childhood was strict too. And now I have superelevated ethic norms what I have to fill for my family. I´m learning in the therapy to relativize that. Today I explained my sister that I cannot take part in every situation of her life because I have an own life with a lot of work. She can understand this!

I´m reading the publication of Otto F. Kernberg, New York (publisher): Persönlichkeitsstörungen. Theorie und Therapie. Zwänge und Persönlichkeitsstörungen.
There are many expert articles about OCPD, here the index of this title.

Probably they have an English edition because the publisher Otto F. Kernberg comes from New York, look here an explanation with e-mail about translations of the publications.

I´m confronted with a task and I feel my anankastic interruption of work. But I have to achieve my planned results. There are outstanding accounts.

Fortunately I´ve managed one of them, the most pressing one. The banking institution will put the order in hand at once.

I´ve written an e-mail to my therapist about my professional plans for the future. I am editor and counsel and I want to combine that. I have a good feeling and a vision what to do.

My work as a counsel has given me the input. I must help a boy with many problems.
